TENGGER CAVALRY Reveals Music Video for Politically-Charged Track “Independence Day”
On Tour Now – See Below for Dates!
Global Music Award-winning nomadic folk metal group TENGGER CAVALRY officially released their new album, Die On My Ride, last week via M-Theory Audio, in addition to kicking off their current North American headline tour with support from Felix Martin, Malphas, Sicocis and Helsott (see below for dates).
Today, TENGGER CAVALRY is following up with a fast-paced music video for one of the most politically-charged tracks on the new album, entitled “Independence Day”. Take a look at the video now, exclusively via Loudwire: http://loudwire.com/tengger-
On “Independence Day”, the band uses their voice to incite social change and raise awareness in the name of equality. Frontman Nature G says: “Growing up in China and seeing what the regime has done to its citizens to suppress their individuality, free speech and activism through education has awoken me to how other countries and their leaders treat their citizens. These leaders force their people into becoming sheep-like and afraid to stand up to authority. Speaking up and challenging mainstream thought is considered dishonorable.
It saddens me that even coming from brave origins, inhabitants of this country are still letting things slide and pretending as if everything is just fine. We ignore the atrocities happening right in front of us – such as minorities being seen as less than other citizens because of their skin color and those of a different sexual identity being discriminated for just being who they are – and a leader who seems to be passive about it all.
After experiencing life both in China and the US, I decided to write “Independence Day”. It is an anthem for anyone who embraces their independent identity, fights for the truth and speaks up against any manipulator. We are all sons and daughters of the sky and we all have the right to decide who we want to become!”
Die On My Ride is available now worldwide in both physical CD and vinyl format via M-Theory Audio or digitally via the band’s Bandcamp page. Die On My Ride adds new flavor to the band’s celebrated, exotic metal-meets-Mongolian/Central Asian musical influence and lyrical explorations of tradition, history and warfare. The album further delves into topical themes of personally-experienced racial discrimination, identity conflicts and equal rights issues while exploring new sounds and musical influence.
In addition to TENGGER CAVALRY‘s current North American headline tour, the band will also raid Europe this summer at three different festivals: Ragnard Rock Fest 2017 on July 21in Simandre-sur-Suran. France, the legendary Wacken Open Air on August 5 in Wacken, Germany, and Midgardsblot Metalfestival on August 19 in Borre, Vestfold, Norway. See below for a full listing of international dates.

About TENGGER CAVALRY:
As one of the most unique and innovative acts in modern music, TENGGER CAVALRY (“the army of the sky god” in Mongolian) blends the nomadic musical traditions, instrumentation and warrior spirit of Central Asia with the aggression and power of heavy metal. The group was founded by Nature “G” Ganganbaigal, who sings using the ancient Mongolian tradition of Khoomei (more commonly known as throat-singing) and plays multiple native instruments, including the Morin Khuur (an ancient fiddle), the Tovshuur (a Mongolian guitar) and the Mongolian flute.
Following Nature G’s relocation to America four years ago, TENGGER CAVALRY has successfully completed two headlining tours and even sold out a performance at New York City’s prestigious Carnegie Hall.
In the studio, meanwhile, the group’s output has been prodigious – since forming in 2010, they’ve released four full-length albums, two EPs and numerous singles, including unique cover interpretations of metal classics. In January, Megadeth‘s Dave Mustaine retweeted the group’s cover of “Symphony of Destruction,” while the previous month, the official Motörhead Facebook page reposted their rendition of “Fight.”
TENGGER CAVALRY has been praised by top media outlets such as Metal Hammer, Terrorizer, Billboard, CNN, The Huffington Post and countless others.
